The prefecture of Serres became the yeast for the development of the National Resistance in the Northern Greece area during the German and Bulgarian Occupation. The torch of freedom was lit from the Christos Michalousis’ orchard in the Pyrovolika district of Serres, were the Macedonian Bureau of the Communist Party’s hideout was located. <\/span><\/p>\n

The lecture follows the development of the resistance movement in the prefecture of Serres and its impact on villages of the Mount Paggaio and the city of Serres. <\/span><\/p>\n

Furthermore, the widest antidictatorial event held in the prefecture of Serres during the years of Occupation will be presented through some testimonies.
